What was your favorite part of working with the Merri-Makers team?
Laura was responsive and answered every question! I liked how I was able to personalize just about everything about the wedding to fit what I wanted. The team was ABSOLUTELY amazing. The executed everything to perfection and made the process so easy for me.
What was your favorite food of the night? Which dish were guests raving about?
Everything was amazing and the displays were impressive!
Cocktail Hour: bacon and scallops or the pork chops
Dinner: steak
What was your favorite photo spot of the venue?
If I could say everywhere I would – everything single picture I love!
I think the barn was beautiful during the day, ceremony and at night – just a special, unique look to it. I like the roadway into the venue with the trees in the background – again very unique!

Was there a theme to your wedding? Tell us about your wedding colors and aesthetic!
Theme was just an elegant winter wedding with golds/champagnes. I wanted to bring in the aspect of “winter” with the white fur I had on, the cream scarves (with pearls and rhinestones) the bridesmaids were wearing, I had scarves for the guests. Just a hint of winter – it was a few days before Christmas. There were aspects of golds throughout the wedding in my details: gold wedding toppers, drink stirrers, golds in all of my, stationary, matchboxes, ballet slippers for guests (dance shoes for reception), many more things!

How did you and your partner meet? Share your love story with us!
Their story began in a small bar in the Upper East Side. Despite Rachel arriving over an hour late (although Rachel remains confident it was only 15 minutes), they spent a night filled with jokes, laughs and bud lights. They both lost track of time and before they knew it, they had closed down the bar. After that night, they were inseparable. Their second date was only two days later which was quickly followed by a third date three days later. Before a month had gone by, they were already seamlessly mixing in with each other’s friends and family as if they had know each other for years. After a special trip to Turks and Caicos they knew it was a forever kinda thing. A year later, they moved into an apartment together in Gramercy, NY. A few months later, they flew down to Texas to welcome Cooper into their clan. Between his sensitive palate, love of long walks and over extensive wardrobe (thanks to Rachel and Jill), Cooper was an immediate fit.
Over the last three years, Rachel and Aaron traveled the world – from adventures in Europe to relaxing on the beaches of Bermuda, Nantucket and Antigua to skiing (with occasional injuries) in Colorado and Jackson Hole. Through their trips, they discovered the best adventures are the ones they do together. Right before their birthdays in December 2023, Aaron surprised Rachel with a proposal in Gramercy Park.

What made you select this venue?
My Aunt got married here 11 years ago and I have had my heart set on this venue ever since! It has literally been my dream to get married here. When I was getting married all I kept thinking was “I can’t believe this is actually happening!”
Would you recommend Merri-Makers to another bride? Share why!
Without a doubt! They are the most amazing catering company on top of having the most beautiful, unique venue spaces. I know others that have had their wedding at other locations and they have nothing but great things to say.
