What was your favorite part of working with the Merri-Makers team?
Everyone we worked with was so kind and beyond helpful. They all worked hard to ensure that our day was perfect. We also loved how we were able to truly customize our entire day!
What was your favorite food of the night? Which dish were guests raving about?
THE TOMAHAWK STATION!!! Everyone was raving about it! We also heard a lot of excitement around the sliders, the mini tacos, strolling desserts and the WARM milk and cookies.. emphasis on warm because people thought that was just amazing!
What was your favorite photo spot of the venue?
We had beautiful weather on our wedding day so we took advantage of it and took a lot of photos in the garden which was incredible. We also did sunset photos on the dock which came out amazing! Doing our first look in the arches outside was also so perfect and made for beautiful photos! The bridal suite was also fun for getting ready photos and some pictures with bridesmaids.
Was there a theme to your wedding? Tell us about your wedding colors and aesthetic!
We were aiming for an old money glam style for our wedding. We stuck to mainly black and white with seasonal pops of toffee and dusty rose. Bridesmaids were in champagne and groomsmen in black.
How did you and your partner meet? Share your love story with us!
We met at work! We were both working our first job out of college at Vanguard. I was new on the job and Mark had been a little more tenured when saw me across the cubicles as I popped up looking for someone to help me on a call with a client and he came to my rescue! He left me a sticky note with his name and number on it “if I ever needed anything” and the rest was history.
What made you select this venue?
We were really just taken with the aesthetic at Mallard. It’s not dated like some of the other venue options in New Jersey and felt very unique to us. We loved the layout of the venue and how the dance floor had its own space. The bridal suite was a major selling point, I think anyone who walks in that room for the first time needs a little help picking their jaw up off of the floor. It’s truly stunning! As we were walking through I had such a vision for the venue and how it would look on our wedding day and all of our vendors helped bring it to life! We had been to a wedding at Bonnet Island a few years prior and raved over the food so we knew we wouldn’t be let down in that department. We also really liked Gianna at our initial visit, so that helped!

ABSOLUTELY YES!!! Our wedding day was just an absolute dream. I wouldn’t change a thing! Merri-makers takes great care of their couples. I felt like a VIP with everyone I worked with, especially Gianna. I really can’t say enough positive things about her and her whole team that helped us throughout the process and the day of the wedding. The food was phenomenal, staying the night at the venue was so much fun, and it was just such a stunning place for a wedding! I am so glad that we chose to get married at Mallard!
