If you are trying to give someone directions around the southern end of Tinton Falls, you will be hard-pressed not to use PALUMBO’S, as a reference point. For many people in that area, the restaurant-catering hall is a “Landmark” for its distinctive exterior design as well as for its reputation. In fact, when Palumbo’s was at its peak, people called the shopping center in which it is located, “Palumbo’s Center” when in fact, the stores at 4057 Asbury Ave. are located in the Tinton Falls Centre. By whatever name you referred to it, Palumbo’s was the anchor of the center and a place many could recall having been a guest or a guest of honor at a wedding, sweet 16, retirement or other life-cycle event. And now the Landmark has returned with the owners of Merri-Makers Catering running the catering hall and the newly-fashioned Tavern @ Palumbo’s. Both sides of this iconic facility are running at full steam, attracting patrons and events back in a steady stream over the past few months.
The Main Ballroom is a traditional event space with wall sconces and chandeliers. The room is as adaptable as one can be, with partition walls which can be added and removed to allow a ceremony to be held and separation for the cocktail hour and reception. The design of the catering facility also allows Merri-Makers to open a retractable wall between the Main Ballroom and the Garden Room to have a separate Viennese Room, with special desserts, cakes and pastries as well as international coffees at stations throughout the 100-person capacity Garden Room. Weddings are the more popular events happening at Merri-Makers @ Palumbo’s but by far, not the only ones! Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s, anniversary celebrations, retirement parties, community fund raising events, showers and Sweet 16/Quinceanos parties are regularly hosted in their facilities.

The Garden Room is part of the package when booking a wedding or other event at Merri-Makers and can also be booked separately as Monmouth County’s largest dance-floor, offering 1500 square feet of space for a Sweet 16 or Quinceanos party—with room for 100 people.
While the staff of the Tavern @ Palumbo’s has spent the past four weeks working out the opening details of a unique and exciting restaurant offering, the staff of Merri-Makers continues to provide one of the most affordable and certainly the most memorable of life-cycle events to the local community. The rebirth of the Landmark facility at the corner of Asbury Ave. and Green Grove Road in Tinton Falls is a partnership of two highly successful and respected food-service providers in our area, one which calls for you to stop in and revisit or experience for the first time.
